Congratulations and well done to the seven warrior troop scouts that entered the Kent County Scouts Ministry of food competition on Sunday 23rd January at Rainham school for girls in Gillingham. Amongst tough competition and high standards the two teams that entered managed to pull off the double coming in First and Second place!
Both teams scored over 200 points and there was only 7 points between them.
Third place was awarded to 8th Gillingham A who scored 196
Our winning team, Ben Ellie and Rebecca had the odds against them because they were a team member down when Cian unfortunatly broke his foot and could not take part. Despite this the team carried on and was seen cooking Portabello mushrooms with walnut and stilton sauce, Curried cod and rice with a yogurt sauce and Lemon tart with vanilla sauce.
Next was, Brecon, Joshua, Ryan and Samuel who started with a Prawn and advocado salad with marie rose sauce. Main was Chicken puff pastry pie in gravy with green beans and new potatoes. Dessert consisted of Beetfruit cake with chocolate sauce.
The teams were timed and judged on all aspects of their execution. They had to make deadlines to serve the dishes on time and at the correct temperature.
