FAMILY CAMP 2023

Dear Parents, Carers We had so much fun at last years Family Camp that we hope you will be able to join us with your family for this year’s camp to be held at Shepherd Park Activity Centre Sheldwich Near Faversham Kent from Friday 26th May to Monday 29th May (Long Bank Holiday weekend) You now have the chance to camp as a family and take part in some of the activities that happen on a Beavers sleepover, Cub or Scout camp. We will be the only campers on the site, which consists of two fields, woods and building with kitchen and washroom facilities. We will use the building for the evening entertainment and for wet weather activities in the unlikely event of poor weather. The programme will be suitable for all ages, the main objective being to have fun. There will be lots of activities for all ages including outdoor games, treasure hunt, camp fire, work bases, quizzes, barbecue, trip to the beach or swimming pool and a surprise music night. Each family brings their own tent, food and cooks their own meals. Let us know if you are new to camping and need advice on a tent. There are plenty of take away outlets in the nearby town of Faversham. Sorry but no dogs are allowed on the site. Under Scout Association rules all adults attending a Family Camp will need DBS clearance (free of charge) which can take several weeks. Unfortunately we are unable to accept DBS’s from other sources. If you are interested in attending the Family Camp, would you please complete the attached form ASAP and hand it to your child’s leader. Deposits and full payments to be made into the Main Nat West Group account Sort code: 51-70-14 Account number: 78902592. Please put the family name and family camp as a reference. We will then come back to you with all the information including directions and the full program for this great weekend. The cost has been held for the past 10 years at £15 for adults, £7.50 for children with under 5’s free. No previous camping experience is required! Kevin Ingram ( Family camp co-ordinator)
